welcome to borilla creek Brahmans

For genetic strength you can rely on

The success of any beef breeding enterprise is reliant on the strength of its breeding females. This principle has been recognised and adopted by Paul & Linda Oates’ Borilla Creek Brahman & Brangus breeding program, on properties at Emerald and Alpha in Central Queensland.

Supported by their lifetime of experience and involvement in all aspects of the beef cattle industry, the centrepiece of the Borilla Creek program is the production of highest quality bulls; bulls that have the capabilities to implant their inherent genetic strengths into their progeny in all environments.

Borilla Creek’s principals are uncompromising on their selection standards.
Balanced structural soundness is a must and when added to requirements for rapid growth, heavy muscling, superb temperament, high fertility and calving ease, all on a moderate frame size, it is easy to understand why only a small number of elite sires get used in their highly productive Borilla Creek bull breeding herd.

This 300 strong Borilla Creek seedstock herd is backed up by a 1,000 commercial breeding females, where sires are thoroughly tested and their progeny’s performance is followed right through to the consumer. This feedback is extremely important in ensuring the herd remains on a path of continual improvement.

This is why bulls offered under the Borilla Creek prefix are so consistently reliable.

Semen from imported and elite performance sires is used in two AI programs each year, ensuring genetic diversity. The latest sire of influence to come through the Borilla Creek testing program with flying colours is FBC d Jacko De Manso. He is in the Brahman breed’s top 5% for 200, 400 and 600 day weight EBVs and has passed on his outstanding qualities of structure, bone, pigment and temperament.

Private paddock sales and inspections are most welcome by arrangement.

A number of specially selected bulls will also be offered at two auction sale venues.
